I am my own Geek Squad! Well... that's not entirely true. I have to give props to friends Tanner (do him a favor and "Like" his FB fan page--he's ONE away from 200!!) and Heather without whom I surely would have dipped a wooden stake in holy water and stabbed that computer in the heart.
After a near 12 hour surgery, Handy's (for you newcomers, that's my blog nickname for hubby) old laptop is now in working order and I have a laptop to write on in places besides the house!!! And can I just give major props to my iMac for a minute? I got Honeycrisp in October and while we had a shaky start, she's really what all other computers dream of being. She's fast, she's smart, she's got a LOT of memory. I've been taking her for granted, and I'm sorry. I appreciate her so much more after yesterday's trudge through the slosh that is Windows. I resolved numerous conflicts and erased quite a few programs that had rendered ol' Deller completely useless. I reinstalled and repaired and felt quite tech-like by the end of the day.
Sigh. It's not a MacBook, but it works, and all I need it for is MS Word :)
:::cracks knuckles:::
Now it's time to write that bestseller from the extremely trendy writing location of my local Starbucks or Borders. Bwahahahaha.

Best...title....ever! :)
ReplyDeleteAh, it is a great feeling, isn't it! So glad you finally got it up and running. See you at Starbucks! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. I'm a complete tech-idiot. I wish I was more savvy. (I agree with TannerJ, this is a GREAT title!)
ReplyDeleteWow, good for you! Glad you got it working! My old pc sounded like a jet engine taking off and then it'd burn my wrists to a crisp ;p Have fun writing!
