Maybe it's because it's so blasted hot out and my area is in the middle of a record-breaking drought, I'm especially yearning for the coolness of December. The holiday music is doing a nice job of tricking my brain, however temporary. :)
I saw a giveaway for novels with a Christmas theme, and it got me wondering if I've read any "Christmas" books. Some books touch on it... some of the Harry Potters, A Walk to Remember... maybe one or two others that I can't remember.
Have you read any that don't feel like the screenplay to a Hallmark movie? (NOT THAT I DON'T WATCH THOSE!! I'm a fan of the fake snow and cheese as much as the next person.) Any recommendations for me? I must quench this Christmas yearning!
Let it Snow by (Maureen Johnson, L. Myracle, & John Green) and Dash and Lily's Book of Dares are set around that time, I think. Also, hot chocolate is good year round, I believe.
ReplyDeleteI've read Let it Snow! Umm...so not thinking Christmas right now.
ReplyDeleteIf you like paranormal romance, Christina Skye has some holiday titles in her Draycott Abbey series. It's been a while since I've read those because I'm all about YA these days.
Good luck in your search and happy reading! Merry Christmas? :)
ah, Christmas seems so far away now when we are having 107*F outside here in Europe :(
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out this, Let it Snow!
ReplyDeleteJamie - I'm all about YA too, but I'll take a gander at the others you mentioned :)
Dezz - It's super hot here too. That's why I'm tricking my mind with winter tunes and stories!
Oh, please don't remind me that Christmas will basically be here before we know it! I love Christmas, but it is such a busy season! Too much traveling and not enough time enjoying. :)
