Just look at that delicious cover.Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
Description from Goodreads:
For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
My Thoughts:
If the story alone doesn't suck you in, ladies, Patch will. He's H-O-T, he's bad, he's mysterious... and it's gooood.
It's definitely a page turner. Often at night (I do most of my reading in bed), I'd have to force myself to turn off the light and go to sleep. It's that interesting. You don't know who Nora should trust, who's good, who's bad, what's real?
The writing is different... fresh. I love the way Fitzpatrick words things. You can feel exactly what Nora is feeling, and see what she sees. Your own heart races when she's near Patch, and you become just as confused about him as she is.
It's hard to know exactly what to say without spoiling anything. It's the mystery, the style, the voice, the Patch that keeps you reading.
I look forward to reading more from Fitzpatrick.

I didn't cry. (But it was touching...)
