My level is Newbie. My plan is to read:
1. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen
2. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
3. Sense and Sensibility and Seamonsters by Ben H. Winters
OR (because reading Sense and Sensibility in ANY form more than once in a year will probably make me tired)
3. Mr. Darcy, Vampyre by Amanda Grange
4. Emma by Jane Austen (if my Jane Austen character personality test told me I was Emma, I may as well know what that means!!)
Allow me to respectfully recommend 'Mr Darcy's Daughters' by Elizabeth Aston. I read it about 5 years ago I think and it was almost like finding another Austen book. I've read everything she wrote - including little letters and short stories - which are... interesting - to say the least. I'd love to hear your reviews on what you read so that I can add to my reading list!

ReplyDeleteI'd also like to make a recommendation...the Mr. & Mrs. Darcy mysteries by Carrie Bebris. Super fast, silly reads but a lot of fun. ;)

Ooh, I might have to do this challenge... I love Jane Austen! I'm just not sure about taking on yet another challenge - I'm already doing 100+ books and 50+ library books for 2010!

ReplyDeleteWelcome to the challenge! about your question on books from publishers, yes, i get most of my review books from publishers. Basically if you join bookblogs.ning.com there are lots of offers for review copies, and Pump Up Your Book has great tours needing reviewers. Emma is a wonderful read! The first time I read it I didnt like Emma (the character) much at all, but then I few years later I read it again and just adored her! Although, Pride & Prejudice remains my favourite Austen read. :)
