The weekend before my birthday, hubs and I went out to the lake for some R&R. Saturday we hit up Texas' biggest outlet mall on the way, and took in a movie. Sunday's weather started out a little misty and dreary, but eventually cleared into a near-cloudless day, getting up to 80 degrees, and I even got a little pink!
Here are a few pictures of Canyon Lake and the area around it.
This is part of the gorge that was naturally created during the flood of 2002 when the lake water flowed over the spillway. We haven't done a hiking tour of it yet, but we plan to.
Hubby likes his plain. I took the picture before he drowned it in syrup.
Happy Sunday!

ReplyDeleteThat is one of the places on my list to visit this year, my friends want to rent a cabin and float the river... I have a feeling wine will be involved, and I can't wait!
Thank you for the beautiful pictures, Kristin! I have something for you on my blog. :o)
ReplyDeleteKristin how do you make pancakes, can you give me the recipe? Here in Europe pancakes are flat and thin, and I've always thought those thick ones looked very appetizing.
ReplyDeleteE. Elle - you're so sweet!
ReplyDeleteDez - those pancakes are from a restaurant, so I have no clue how they make them. But I'm pretty sure they use a pancake mold on the griddle and fill it up with the batter. Maybe do a google search for fluffy pancake recipes and find a circle mold somewhere???
ah, thanks for nothing :))))
